Spanish Pieces of 8 with Chinese Chopmarks are Back!
Just in time for the Holidays, we've acquired just six completely
unique 8 Reale Chopmark treasure coins!

The Reale was the coin of the realm in Colonial North and South America for hundreds of
years – extending into the 1800’s in the newly-formed United States of America.
Recognized the world over, the silver Reale was the original “Trade Coin,” and the
standard for international trade throughout the Orient.

But when the Spanish began their international trade with the Orient, they weren't always
honest, often passing off coins of base metals or"watered-down" silver...

Within a few decades, Chinese businessmen and financial institutions went on the alert for
coins made of base metals or coins with less than the required amount of silver.  When a
coin passed muster, they placed their sign or “chop” on the trade coins with proven weight
and purity. As coins traveled 20,000 miles to and from the Americas to the Orient and
back, chop upon chop was added to them.  Some coins bear over 50 individual chops!
Today, merchants and traders of old can be identified by their particular chop mark –
usually a Chinese character punched into the coin.

Chinese Cash Coins for Collecting & Wearing as low as $15
From the Yangtze river to you - cash coins are the perfect stocking
stuffer, and introduction to genuine treasure coins!

BC, and endured through the centuries to 1911 AD.  So powerful was their impact on Asian
trade and culture, that they set the standard for currency throughout the region.
Cash coins were issued by every Chinese ruler, and most of the pretenders and rebels.
Early cash coins were made in an amazing array of shapes and sizes.  Later coins, while
almost always round with the famous square hole, were made in a variety of sizes and
metals.

But beyond all other aspects of the cash coin stands the calligraphy – the complex, delicate
shapes and forms – that make collecting cash coins both fascinating and rewarding.
Remember, each of these little works of art was hand-made by artisans long dead.

With a little effort and the internet, you can discover the origins of your cash coin… where
it was made, what dynasty ordered its casting, and how your coin was used in the everyday
lives of people who lived thousands of miles away and centuries ago.

And, of course, let’s not forget the enduring belief that cash coins carry their own bit of
luck that spills over onto the person who wears or pockets one of these unique coins.
Congratulations – you now own your own completely unique, authentic piece of history.

Cash!Admiral Gardner coins are becoming increasingly hard to find!
Get one that has come straight from the salvor while you still can!
The British East India Company sent a fleet of ships to India and China once a year.  They
were fitted and equipped with great care, and often escorted by Royal Navy ships through
unfriendly waters, usually because of a seemingly never-ending war with the French.

However, the weather was also an enemy. In the case of the Admiral Gardner, and her
sister ship the Britannia, it was to prove fatal in the year 1809, when both ships sank on
Goodwin Sands, just a few miles away from their home port.

Packed in wax, and stored in the hold, were British East India company coins emblazoned
with the famous lions and shield.  Each dated 1808, they had just left the mint for their
trip to India.  Salavaged in the 1980's, these beautiful coins are becoming increasingly rare.
